It works by sending a voltage through a small pipe which in turn draws water from the ground.
When it reaches the target point, it sucks it up into the pipe.

Here’s a more detailed explanation of how the sprinklers works, via the Business Insider article:The sprinklers are built into the house to create a “bubble” in the basement where water is stored.
When the house gets too hot, the sprinkers can be moved out of the way to cool the house down, and the sprinkling system can be switched off.
Here’s how it works:When you open the sprinkeliner, it draws water through a tiny pipe.
The water in the pipe is compressed into a sphere and placed into a bucket that sits in the sink.
The water pressure inside the bucket is equal to the amount of water that was squeezed into the bucket.
The sphere of water, which is then compressed, pulls water from a water reservoir located in the bottom of the house.
When the water is pulled out of that reservoir, it travels down the pipe, into the sprinker system, where it is fed to a pump that pulls the water into a reservoir that’s in the front of the home.
The reservoir can hold up to 100,000 gallons.
Once the water reaches the sprinkilators, it is compressed again and pumped back into the sink where it will be stored.
Sprinklers are typically used to collect water from underground pipes and fill up pipes, so they have a long history in homes.
They were originally designed to collect rain water in rural areas, but the technology is getting more sophisticated.
Sinks have been made to collect drinking water in urban areas for years.
So when they’re put in your front yard, you should know that the water’s coming from the tap and the pipes are not connected to the outside world.
