Shimano Kp Components is the first to use the Kp series for the new XTR XTR pedals
Shimano Components is now the first manufacturer to release a Kp component for the XTR Pro, the Xtra Pro.
The new pedals feature a single-piece construction, with an open bolt that allows for a custom fit for the footbed.
The Xtra pedals are available in two colors: white and red, and the K-Spec wheels will retail for $180, with a $150 price cut on the standard wheels.
Shimano says the Kps are lighter and more efficient than the stock pedals, and that they’re “significantly lighter than the existing Kps.”
The Kp Pro will have a built-in “zero-g” design, which means it won’t require a shoebox, and it will also have a reduced footprint compared to the standard Kp pedals.
The Kps also have more grip and a longer stem, so they’ll be better for long runs.
Shapeways has a bunch of details on the new pedals, including a price tag, a price point, and specs.
Shippable has the Shimano Pro Xtra Kp components and more information.
Shimano also offers a ton of Xtra-specific accessories and a lot more info on its own site.
